Next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 1 and 2, Berkeley High will be
offering the first of five sets of the California High School Exit
Examination (CAHSEE). The October test is for seniors who have yet to
pass one or more sections of the two-day exam. All students must pass
both the English and math section of the the Exit Exam in order to
receive a California high school diploma. If your student is not sure
if they should be taking the October exam, please have them speak to
their counselor.

The second set of the Exit Exams will be offered for juniors and seniors
in November. In February the entire sophomore class will take the
exams. The March exam is for those Sophomores who were absent in
February, Juniors who were absent in November or have yet to pass the
exam and Seniors yet to pass the exam. Finally, the May exam test date
is for Seniors who not passed.

We need parent volunteers from
7:30 am to 10am (2 parents)
10am to 11:38am (2 parents)

The October exam will take place in the East Gallery of the Berkeley
Community Theater (on campus). Students should check in at 8 a.m

Parent proctors register kids for the exam, pass out tests and pencils,
collect booklets, sort them, etc. There will be an administrator in
charge. Proctors are critical to this exam! By having enough people
check students in, you will be helping start this important exam in an
orderly and calm fashion. If you can help, please let me know at
