*SENIORS***

1. SAVE THE DATE: Wednesday, *September 18 at 6:30 pm* in the BHS 
Library. Senior Parent College Information Night -- the how-tos of applying.

2. *Senior Profile*: Was due on September 5th, in the Collegeand Career 
Center (D-221). This form is only for students applying tocollegesthat 
require a counselor recommendation. (The UCs and CalStates don't require 
recommendations.)

3. *CollegeEssay Readers*:

*College Essay Reader Schedule beginning 9/16/13: College Essay Readers 
will now be available Monday through Thursday from 8:00-9:00 AM, during 
the lunch period, and after 6^th period (3:40 PM).Essay Readers will 
also be available on Friday mornings at 8:00 AM and during the lunch 
period (not after school).

4. *CollegeAdvisor's Class Presentations*: Throughout Sep. 9th -- 
20th,Ms. Price and Mr. Barton will be conducting class presentations 
tocover important aspects of thecollegeapplication process. Studentswill 
all receive a folder, complete with important informationregarding the 
fall semester and thecollegeapplication process.

5. *Advising Appointments for Seniors*: Sign-up sheets are now available 
in theCollege& Career Center.Seniors may also drop in any day at lunch 
or after 6th period withoutan appointment to have shorter questions 
answered.

*COLLEGEVISITS***

Manycollegerepresentatives visit Berkeley High'sCollegeand CareerCenter 
every year. In most instances, these are the admissions representatives 
who will review the applications of Berkeley High School 
students.Seniors may attend up to 10 of these meetings,with the 
permission of the teacher whose class you are missing. Permission slips 
are available in the CCC and in your senior folders.

*PSAT REGISTRATION*: Berkeley High School is offering the PSAT onOctober 
19th.

*The fee for the test is $20.Juniors who receive free or reduced lunch 
pay $5.There are no fee waivers for Sophomores.

Sign-ups for Juniors are Sept 16-20 and for Sophomores, sign-ups are 
Sept. 23-27. Students will sign-up at the Donahue Gym ticket windows 
during lunch (11:40 - 12:15) and after school to 4 p.m.Payment may be 
cash, check or money order (checks should be made out to Berkeley High 
School).
