*ADMINISTRATION*****
1. Celebrate! It’s National Library Week! Come to the Library to read our
new display of quotes: “Libraries in Literature.”  Be sure to pick up your
once a year, limited edition bookmark and take advantage of all the
services our Berkeley High School Library offers.

2. The African American Studies Department of Berkeley high School Invites
you to attend a celebration honoring our African American Scholars. Please
join us in honoring 211 African American students who earned a 3.0 or
higher first semester on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. BHS Little Theater

3. Donate blood on April 18th and save up to 3 lives! Sign up for an
appointment or walk in! Blood Drive will be in the community theater
gallery. Sign up in leadership at lunch. If you signed up you should have
received a message.

*4. Thank all for attending the BHS Health Fair this last Friday. For those
of you who visited the Vera Casey teen parenting table - the results for
the bean game are now in! The total number of beans was 241.  Congrats to
Danielle Perez for guessing 240. Please see Tiffany at the Health Center to
pick up your prize!

5. Don’t forget to purchase this year’s yearbook!  There are only 80 books
left!  Don’t get left out!  Seniors can get their Freshman and Senior
yearbooks for $100, or their Freshman, Sophomore and Senior yearbooks for
$150 in C327 after school.


*SENIORS*****
1. ATTENTION Teachers and seniors, the mandatory meting for the Class of
2013 has been moved to April 22. This coming Monday administration will
provide guidelines and important dates for graduating seniors.

2. In order to receive your cap/gown before graduation, you must place your
order by Thursday, April 18. You may place your order online at:

3. The Great Gatsby Senior Ball is May 4th at the SF Metreon.  Do you have
your ticket?  Prom ticket sales are going on at lunch and afterschool on
the Senior Steps.  Prices are now $85.  Please cash or money orders only.
 We are also taking song requests. Seniors and Juniors come down to Prom
tickets today!!

*JUNIORS*

1. If you signed up for the case studies program, which will take place
Sunday, April 21, before the College Fair, your packets are ready.  Please
come to the college center today at lunch to pick up the reading material
you will need for the program.  You will need your school ID to pick up the
packets.

2. SAT Full length practice test- $20 SAT full length practice test –
Saturday, April 20, 2013 8:45am – 1:15 pm at the Princeton Review Office
(2505 Channing Way) Berkeley . Seating is limited, sign up through the
College and career Center only by April 17th, 4pm.

*LEADERSHIP*

1. Applications for next year leadership team have opened!  You could be
the next Commissioner of the Arts or even be the Resident DJ?  Pick up an
application in the Leadership office. Applications are open now through May
8th.

*CLUBS*

*1. Hey guys! The giving back Club is hosting a pizza/ root beer float sale
at the C- gallery. Hope to see you all there!
*OTHER OPPORTUNITIES*

*1. Berkeley Public Library: Alateen is Springing up in Berkeley!
11:45-12:15pm (during BHS Lunch Period) on 4th Fridays. Those dates are
April 26th, May 24th, and June 28th at the Berkeley Public Library 2090
Kittredge St. 3rd Floor Community Meeting Room. Alateen is for young people
whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. Great 12 steps
of support! Free and Confidential.
