On Saturday, March 9th, 2013 starting at 1:00 pm, the 2nd Annual JazzGirls
Day will be held at Berkeley High School. Young women ages 10 and older who
play or sing jazz, or are thinking about trying it out, are invited to join
professional female jazz musicians and educators for the afternoon.
Activities will include master classes, jam sessions and the screening of a
film. Prominent female jazz musicians from around the Bay Area will be
leading workshops, jams and discussions.
The event will be held in Room A201 at Berkeley High, 1:00 - 4:00 pm. At
4:00 - 5:30 pm in the Little Theatre there will be a screening of a new film
about women in jazz.
This event is co-sponsored by the Berkeley Unified School District, The
Berkeley Jazz Parents' Association, The Jazzschool and SF Jazz and is in
collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center, NY, under the direction of
Jessica Jones. This event is FREE to all aspiring girl jazz musicians.
Please RSVP to berkeleyhighjazz at gmail.com.
