[BHS Etree] INCOMING FAMILIES: Parent Meetings at King, Willard, and Longfellow plus New-to-BUSD Meetings

1. Parent meetings for incoming 9th grade students currently enrolled at
King, Longfellow and Willard are scheduled for the following nights:

Longfellow - Tuesday, Feb. 19 (if you missed it due to lack of notice,
please attend a meeting at King or Willard)

King - Tuesday, Feb. 26

Willard - Tuesday, March 5

 

These meetings will be conducted by BHS administrators and are for parents
from BUSD middle schools only.  During the school days following the parent
meeting BHS counselors will go to the middle schools to gather course and
learning community requests from students.  BHS will mail home the student
selections for a final parental review before the student choices are
entered in the lottery. Spanish translation will be available.

 

2. Parents AND students who are New-to-the-BUSD should plan on attending one
of the following meetings: 

March 4 - Last name A-L

March 11 - Last Name M-Z

March 18 - Makeup

 

There will be a presentation by an Adminstrator, a Q and A, and then
students will leave with a counselor to prioritize their learning
communities and input course requests. BHS will mail home a copy of the
students' requests for a final check.

 

3. Orientation and First Day of School. Orientation/Registration for
Freshmen is scheduled for Monday, August 19. All freshmen should plan on
attending. They will pick up their actual classroom schedule, textbooks, and
locker. Freshmen will meet school administrators, go on school tours and
attend an activity fair. The first day of classroom instruction is
Wednesday, August 26.
