The entire BHS Jazz Program travelled to the Folsom Jazz Festival on
 January 26th with great success.

Combo A (Hugo Shiboski, Sam Klein-Markman, Liam Collins, Michael Ornstein,
Marcelo Bourque-Perez & Max Schwartz) was awarded 2d place in its
high-level division. Combo B (Nora Stanley, Arabelle Schoenberg, Cy
Grimsich & Max Schwartz) and Combo C (Bennie Bock, Elliston Frank, Ray
Little and Max Blau) placed first and third, respectively, in their
division.  Lab 2 placed 4th in their very competitive division and Ensemble
placed 3rd in its also competitive division.

Several students in Lab 1 received awards for their outstanding solo work
as did many of the musicians in the other groups that attended.  Thanks in
no small part to the generosity of a family that paid for transportation
and dinner, an extremely good time was had by all.

The program thanks the many parents that acted as chaperones for the very
long day on the road (6 am until almost 1 am the next day!) and to Sarah
Cline, our program's hard-working and amazing director.
