Berkeley High Jazz Combo A picks up top prize at Delta!

On Saturday December 7 the Berkeley High Jazz Ensemble and combos A, B, and C performed at the Delta Jazz Festival at San Joaquin Community College, their first festival of the school year.  Combo A, consisting of Hugo Shiboski, Liam Collins, Max Schwartz, Marcelo Bourque-Perez, Sam Klein-Markman and Michael Orenstein, ranked at the top of the competition for jazz combos.  All the students worked hard preparing for that first festival and many students received solo awards, including Benny Bock, Ray Little. Max Schwartz, Joe Katz-Glass, Henry Oyekanmi, Marcelo Bourque-Perez, Michael Orenstein, Sam Klein-Markman, Liam Collins, Hugo Shiboski, Arabelle Schoenberg, Lieder Roeed, and Nora Stanley (apologies to anyone whose name we left out). Congratulations to all!
