Parent elections for representatives to the School Site Committee and the
BSEP committees are scheduled to be held at a school-wide parent meeting
with Principal Pasquale Scuderi on Thursday, September 27 in the Little
Theater from 7 to 9 p.m.

Both committees are made up of representatives from the Administration, the
student body, the staff and parents. SSC sets school policy and oversees a
number of committees. The BSEP site council is responsible for spending
more than 3/4 of a million dollars annually for enrichment purposes
(tutoring, parent access office, volunteer and outreach coordinator, college
advisors, Afro Haitian drummer, and much more).

The BSEP committee has five parents plus two alternatives. The SSC has four
parent representatives plus four parent alternatives.

If you are interested in serving on either committee, please send a short
statement of intent and a description of your experience to
JanetHuseby at berkeley.net. Your statement will be posted on the BHS website
as well as distributed on the night of the elections. Please be sure to
include your student's grade and learning community.
