[BHS Etree] MISC: African American Studies Essay Contest Deadline May 29

Reminder: All essays for the African American Studies essay contest must be submitted by 11:59pm PST on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.
The contest is open to all students at Berkeley High and B-Tech and should address the guidelines below:.
  
Answer the Question
Is African American Studies still relevant for today’s students?
 
·         Your essay/poem must be no less than 600 and no more than 1200 words
·         You must include your name and essay title at the top of each page. All pages of an essay must be numbered.
·         All pages of an essay must be double-spaced.
·         A cover page should be submitted that includes your full name, student ID, email and phone number
·         Essay or poem must be an original work


Send your submission to vernonwalton at berkeley.net, or drop it off in the  Berkeley High School front office

The winner of the contest will receive an iPad.     

 If you have any questions about the essay contest please contact Vernon Walton at vernonwalton at berkeley.net  

Winner must be present at Treyvon Martin panel discussion on May 316:30 pm - 8:30 pm and will receive a new iPad.
