YMCA-PG&E Teen Center's Higher Learning Programs will be offering the
following free workshops on college admissions and financial aid.  To

College Advisory Workshop

Saturday, February 11th 

10am-12pm

Join this workshop offered by the People's Test Preparation Services and
learn from a college advisor who will cover a variety of important college
admission topics such as qualifications for admission, college selection,
and testing.  A panel of UC Berkeley students will also be sharing their
college-going experiences. Get the inside scoop on how to stay on track for
a college-going future.

Financial Aid Applications: FAFSA and the CSS Profile

Saturday, February 11th 

1pm-3pm

The Gates Millennium Scholars Association (GMSA) of U.C. Berkeley will
present this workshop on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) and the CSS Profile. Presenters will be discussing the two financial
aid applications in general and go over specific sections in detail.
Seniors are strongly encouraged to attend this event as priority deadline
for the FAFSA is March 2nd.  All students and families are welcome to attend
and start learning about these two important financial aid applications used
by colleges.

Paying for College without Breaking the Bank

As the cost of college rises every year, it is essential for families to
plan ahead and familiarize themselves with the types of financial aid out
there.  Come and learn updated information about the state of financial aid
in this seminar offered by Kaplan Test Prep.  Gain tips to help navigate the
process of applying for financial aid and start planning a timeline today so
your student will not have to worry about college tuition in the future.
