[BHS Etree] ADMIN: Exit Exam, a report and thank you

This week over 800 Berkeley High Students took the California High School
Exit Exam.   On Tuesday, in both the Donahue and the Jacket Gym, the exam
instructions were being read by 8:15 a.m.  On Wednesday, instructions
started at 8 a.m.  THAT is a record.  To appreciate this achievement it is
first necessary to appreciate the hundreds and hundreds of parents and
guardians who roused their students from bed, fed them, and bundled them out
the door so they were standing in front of the gym doors by 7:30.  Then
volunteers  checked each student's ID and handed out answer sheets and
counselors passed out test booklets. A lot happened in a very short time.  

The exam was organized by the counselors under the direction of Vice
Principal Jorge Melgoza.  It was staffed by counselors, teachers, all vice
principals, and 52 volunteers.  Where would we be without our awesome
community? Thank you dear and beloved volunteers. 

Sophomores  who were absent for the exam will take it on March 13 and 14 .
Test results will be available by the end of the school year.
