*New to the bulletin today


ADMINISTRATION


1. There is no school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, November 23, 24,
and 25 (Thanksgiving break).

 

2. If you have an elevator key and you no longer need it, please return it
to Ms. Taylor at the front desk.

 

LEADERSHIP

 

Attention Berkeley High, Friday, November 18th, is your last day to bring
canned goods and other non-perishable food items for the food drive.  100%
of items you donate will go to families in need at the Alameda County Food
Drive .  You can drop your items in the bins of the C-bldg gallery.

 

SPORTS

 

*1. Boys Basketball First Home Game on Friday, November 18 in Donahue Gym.
JV game at 5:00 PM and Varsity game at 6:30 PM.

 

2. Do you have school spirit? Do you have "Swag"? The Berkeley High Girls
and Boys Basketball programs will be selling "Swag" Student Spirit t-shirts
every Wednesday after school, 3:30-4:30 pm, in front of the Donahue gym. All
BHS students who purchase the student designed "Swag" t-shirt will be
eligible to become a member of the "2012 Swag 6th Man Club" and receive up
to 50% off the student admission price to home basketball games. T-shirts
are $10. STUDENTS MUST PRESENT A CURRENT, VALID BHS STUDENT ID TO PURCHASE A
T-SHIRT AND GAME TICKETS. 

Support your BHS Basketball programs and join the Swag 6th Man Club now!

CLUBS

 

1. Earphone English, this Friday at lunch in C124.  We'll be reading
"Catching Fire".  See you there.

 

*2. Are you a female student interested in technology or business?  Come to
an information meeting to participate in the Technovation Challenge!  Monday
after school in G207. Build your resume and meet successful women in
business and technology.  All grade levels/experience welcome.

 

EVENTS

 

1. BHS Jazz Ensemble Fall Concert: Friday November 18 at 7pm.The BHS Jazz
Ensemble under the direction of Sarah Cline will perform in concert on
Friday November 18, 2011 at the BHS (Florence Schwimley) Little Theatre
beginning at 7:00pm. Tickets are $10 (General Admission); BHS students and
staff are free; other student tickets $3. Lots of snacks and drinks
available for purchase. Come out and enjoy the evening, hear great music,
and support these talented musicians and BHS Jazz!

*2. Come out this Friday and support Community Arts from dancing to spoken
word at "Dancing for Darfur".  All proceeds are donated to help victims of
genocide in Sudan!  It starts at 7pm on the Community Theater stage, enter
by the Little Theater-$7 students, $10 general..See you there!

 

OTHER

 

Do you like theatre?  Do You Like the great outdoors?  Then join Move-About
Theatre for their third spectacular season of bringing plays to parks and
public spaces.  This year's production will be William Shakespeare's "A
Midsummer Night's Dream."  Auditions will be held at the Yerba Buena Arts
center at 701 Mission Street in San Francisco.  Auditions are Saturday,
November 19th& Sunday, Novemeber20th at 1:00pm. Additional auditions will be
at Yerba Buena on Saturday, December 3rd & Sunday, December 4th at 1:00pm.
All you need to audition is a 2 minute comedic monologue form a classic or
modern work that is not "A Midsummer Night's Dream."  You will also be asked
to do a cold read.  Find Move-About Theatre on Facebook to learn more.  Send
an email to director at moveabouttheatre.com to schedule your audition.
