PLEASE do not reply to this email, contact Janet Huseby, jhuseby at pacbell.net
Below is a recap of the four calls I have put out this week for parent/guardian volunteers. Some are urgent and some are just for fun but all of them provide both an opportunity to help our Berkeley High students and give you a chance to see the school in action. Please consider giving an hour or two in the coming week to Berkeley High. Contact me at jhuseby at pacbell.net to let me know when you can come.
1. Tdap clinic. On Thursday, September 29 we are running a last ditch immunization clinic and we need volunteer help. If you can help between 8:30 and 11:30 and then again between 12:30 and 2, please let me know.
2. On Friday, September 20 from 8:30 to 11:30 in the school library the Watershed Poetry Festival will be holding a reading. We need parents to help set up and usher--as well as enjoy both professional poets and verse by our students. If you can help, please let me know.
3. Ongoing, this week and next until Friday, Oct. 7 Ms Williams is collecting money for the PSAT which are offered mid October at lunch and afterschool until 4 in the ticket booth of the Donahue Gym. This week for juniors and next week for sophomores. A few people have volunteered to help with the occasional shift but in order to avoid long lines we hope to have more collectors. If you can help, please let me know.
4. Next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 4 and 5 we are offering the Exit Exam to seniors who have not yet taken the exam or must still pass one or more of the sections. We need parents who can come in at 7:45 to help check in the students who will be arriving at 8 a.m. If you can help, please let me know.
Pat Anderson, Diane Douglas, Marguerite Fa-Kaji and Lisa Sibony are the parent-volunteer facilitators of the etree; please direct any questions to them at bhs-owner at lmi.net.
