There are over 130 positions available on the BHS Student Leadership Team
for students of any background or interest. Joining the student leadership
team is a great way to:
- boost one's college resume
- gain elective credit and community service hours
- improve the BHS community
- expand on one's social network of positive and healthy friends
- challenge oneself to personally develop as a strong and empowered person
The whole-school student leadership team is responsible for Freshman
Orientation, relief campaigns, Spirit Week, Holiday Meal, Week of Service,
proms, BHS World Celebration, Urban Peace Project, graduation, student
feedback for teachers, elections, Election Convention, overseeing all clubs
and organizations, support of SLC leadership teams, morning announcements,
lunchtime activities, constitutional revision and a host of other
activities.
LEADERSHIP WANTS YOU! THERE IS STILL TIME TO APPLY:
All 9th-11th grade students are welcome to apply to the following positions
on the executive team, class leadership teams, or student senate. The
deadline to submit applications is Thursday, May 26. Applications are
available in the Leadership Office. The positions on the class leadership
and executive teams are awarded through an application and interview
process. The positions on the student senate will be awarded on a process
to be determined. At this time we are seeking interested candidates as a
first step.

Chief of Publicity
Chief of Staff/Secretary
Chief of Fundraising/Treasurer
Alumni and Staff Relations Manager
Community and Guest Relations Manager
Internal Operations Manager
Events and Sales Manager
Lead Artist and Designer
Resident DJ
Parliamentarian
Commissioner of the Arts
Commissioner of Health and Athletics
Commissioner of Elections
Commissioner of Equity and Rights
Commissioner of Environmental Sustainability
Commissioner of Achievement
Commissioner of Multicultural Affairs
Commissioner of Technology
Propose a position: If selecting this option you must include the name for
the position, job description and reasons why the position should exist.
CLASS LEADERSHIP TEAMS: For each grade level 9-11 a secretary, treasurer and
up to fifteen deputies are sought.
STUDENT SENATE: Representatives from each smaller learning community (SLC)
and a few special programs are sought. How many representatives per SLC or
program is based on the population of the SLC or program, with a minimum of
two representatives. The number of representatives sought per SLC or
program is listed in parentheses.

*Two representative seats are offered to these programs, but because of
their limited size or presence on campus each will have only one vote in the
student senate.
