BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!

"BLACK YOUTH IN CRISIS" FORUM PART II

Sat. Mar. 19, 10 am - 2 pm, BHS Library

 

THIS IS A REMINDER FOR OUR COMMUNITY TO COME OUT THIS SATURDAY AND ENGAGE 

IN AN OPEN DISCUSSION RELATING TO URBAN YOUTH NEGATIVE IMAGES, ACADEMIC

EXPECTATIONS AND WHICH OFTEN LEAD THEM AWAY FROM FOLLOWING THEIR PATH TO

SUCCESS. AT THIS EVENT WE WILL CONTINUE TO ADDRESS THE ABOVE ISSUES AND

MORE. AS WE LEARN WAYS OF BEING MORE ACTIVE AND INCREASING AWARENESS

AROUND THESE ISSUES NOT ONLY WILL OUR CHILDREN RESPOND, BUT SO WILL OUR

COMMUNITY.  

 

JASON SEALS, PROFESSOR OF AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDIES AT MERRITT COLLEGE WILL

BE THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER.  A YOUTH PANEL WILL BE MODERATED BY JASMINE

HUDSON.  JUDGE TRINA THOMPSON, PRESIDING JUDGE, SUPERIOR COURT, JUVENILE

DIVISION, ALAMEDA COUNTY  WILL BE OUR SPECIAL GUEST.

 

THIS EVENT WILL BE ON THE CUTTING EDGE!!!  YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS IT!

 

EVERYONE IS WELCOME

 

There will be free parking in the Tennis Courts on Milvia and Bancroft as
well as Milvia and Durant.

Parking is on a first come, first served basis.
