TO THE PARENTS AND FAMILIES OF JUNIORS:

On January 12, the College Information Guide for Parents and Families of
Juniors was mailed by bulk mail to the home of all juniors at Berkeley High.
If you haven't received yours, check to make sure that your address is
correctly listed at the high school. If a copy never arrived, send your
student to the College/Career Center to pick one up.

Our College Handbook Committee has only received funding to print one copy
for each family. If you need a second copy you can view (and print) the pdf
from the College/Career Center website. Go to www.bhs.berkeley.net, click
on "Services," then on "College/Career Center," then about three-quarters of
the way down the list click on "Sophomore, Junior, and Senior College
Application Handbooks." You can then click on the "Junior College Guide."

As mentioned in the cover letter, the Guide briefly outlines the new
University of California admission policy changes that will take effect for
this year's juniors. There is, however, one mistake in the pfd that was
sent to the College Advisors for posting-an error in the new UC url listed
on page 23. The url is correctly listed on page 24, so use that url to go
directly to the website that describes in detail the new admission policies
for those entering the UC system in fall 2012. The Guide that was sent to
your home has the correct information on both pages 23 and 24; it is only
the pdf on the website that has the error on page 23.

This Thursday, Feb 3 at 6:30 pm in the BHS library the College Advisors will
present College Information Night for the Parents/Guardians of Juniors. You
will get an overview of all aspects of the college admissions process.
Should be most informative!
