It's back!  SAT word of the day - accompany: v. To go with, or be
associated with, as a companion.

 

 

ADMINISTRATION

 

*1. Come out tomorrow to the Campus Green where will honor our beloved Mr.
Moellering with a tribute and friendly game of waffle ball homerun derby.
Mr. Moellering was the varsity baseball coach and loved the game.  Be
there for him and to bond in a positive way with others at BHS you might
not know well yet.

 

2. PE Waivers are ready for pick-up- Please come by the counseling center
to pick up your waivers.  They must be signed and returned back to the
counseling center by Friday, January 21st.

 

3. BSEP applications are now available for the fall 2011-2012 school year.
Pick one up in the administration office from Belinda McDaniel, or send an
email request to bmcdaniel at berkeley.k12.ca.us for a digital copy.
Deadline is February 25th. Don't delay, or you will miss out on this grant
opportunity.

 

*4. Winter Ball tickets are on sale for $30.  Tickets are sold on the
senior steps.  You must have student ID to purchase a ticket.  The set-up
will be more extravagant than ever including a replica of the Eiffel
Tower, fountains and special lightning.  February 12, 2011 from 7-11 pm at
the BHS Jacket Gym. Any students with three or more overdue textbooks will
not be able to purchase tickets for the Winter Ball.  Please see Ms. Reed
in the textbook room to return books or clear fines.  

 

CLUBS

 

*1. Earphone English today at lunch in C124.  We will continue the book,
"The Hunger Games."  Please come join us, but no club during Finals week.

 

*2. Do you love comics and want to learn how to make your own?  Or do you
love reading them, playing games or talking about them?  Then come during
lunch to Portable 5 where the awesome Comic Club will be starting a
workshop on faces. No need to sign up, just show up!

 

*3. Are you Straight? Gay? Bi? Curious or don't even know?  Come to the
Gay Straight Alliance, a community of students and teachers who are trying
to create a fun, safe environment for people who are LGBT - next Friday,
January 28th for an after finals pizza party.  Remember, we meet in H207A
-.see you there!

 

SENIORS

 

1. Senior yearbook pages are on sale in H102B during 7th period only.
Come soon as space fills quickly. Yearbooks are for sale at www.myyear.com

2. Important! Cal Grants are due to the BHS Registrar by February 7th!
You can pick up the form in the College Career Center or in the Counseling
Department.  Don't delay!  The registrar's office is D173.

 

SOPHMORES/JUNIORS

 

1. Students will be able to pick up their PSAT results on the following
days at lunch and after school in the College Career Center D221: Friday,
January 21 and Friday, January 28th.  Scores cannot be given to parents.
Students must show BHS ID in order to receive scores!

 

EVENTS

 

1. Act, Sing, & Dance in YMTC's Pocket Broadway. YMTC's training workshop,
Pocket Broadway, begins in February; we are now open for registration.
Develop and deepen your singing, acting, and dancing skills, while working
on exciting and challenging material from an array of musicals. Workshop
runs for 9 weeks, February 28 through May 7 (no workshop March 31 or the
week of April 3); works-in-progress performances May 6 & 7.  No auditions
- all students in grades 7 and up are welcome. Tuition: $400; tuition
assistance available - inquire with registration For more information,
