ADMINISTRATION

 

*1. So far we have collected 800 pounds of food for the canned food drive!
This is 24% of our goal of 3400 pounds or one pound for every student!
Great job so far, lets ramp up the effort. Holiday Meal is December 11 and 1
in 6 Alameda County residents use the food bank.  Donate tomorrow - bins are
in C-building gallery, G-H breezeway, and D Building. 

 

Class spirit score board update!!  Woot! Woot!  As of now the current score
board status is staff coming in last with 425 points.  Slightly ahead of the
staff are freshmen with 520 points, juniors with 575 points, sophomores in
second place with 650 points, and with 1010 points SENIORS!!!

 

*2.  It is estimated that half of all new infections of HIV in the US occur
in people under 25.  Today, December 1st is World AIDS Day.  Go to the
senior steps at lunch TODAY to show your HIV/AIDS knowledge and win prizes.
If you are sexually active, it is important to get tested regularly for HIV
and STIs.  The Berkeley High Health Center offers free and confidential HIV
and STI testing.  Stop by the Health Center in H-105 to make an appointment!


 

SENIORS

 

Seniors who wish to have their baby picture in the yearbook should send 1
picture with their full name to  <mailto:bhighyearbook at gmail.com>
bhighyearbook at gmail.com or bring the picture to H102B after school before
December 1st.  In addition, photos of student life may be submitted for
consideration for the yearbook.

 

SPORTS 

 

*The Berkeley Rhino Rugby Club seeks new players for the 2010-2011 season.
Practices start 5:15 pm, Thursday Dec 2 at Gilman Field near Golden Gate
race track.  Come try this unique fast paced sport played rain or shine. For
more information contact coach David Williamson at 510 548-0449.  Practice
every Tues/Thursday with games on Saturday.

 

EVENTS/PERFORMANCES

 

*Don't miss the BHS Chorus Club and Concert Chorale Concert, This Wednesday,
December 1st in the Little Theater.  The concert begins at 7pm. Come hear
great music from Motown to Broadway and more!  $10 general admission and $3
non BHS students.  BHS students and staff are free.  Questions?  Contact
Scott Dailey in the A Bldg.
