Everyone Should Plan To Attend! Come one, come all!

Dear Berkeley High Community,

The big back-to-school PTSA meeting is this Thursday evening, September 16th, from 7 to 9 PM in the Florence Schwimley Theater. This is the biggest parent meeting of the year, and everyone should try to attend.

What's Going On At Berkeley High: You will hear about a variety of activities, and a number of school organizations that you will want to be aware of for the upcoming school year. These activities can improve your child's experience at Berkeley High, and you as a parent or guardian can also contribute to the success of the school. You'll hear everything from the school's Safety Committee to the ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) and more.

Principal Pasquale Scuderi: Come and meet Berkeley High's wonderful new principal, Pasquale Scuderi. Principal Scuderi will introduce himself and speak about his goals and expectations for Berkeley High, followed by an extended question and answer session with the parents and community.

Elections: Parent elections for a number of extremely important school-wide committees will take place. The elections for School Site Council (SSC) & BSEP Committee will be held, the approval of the new PTSA Executive Board will take place. Each candidate for SSC & BSEP will be giving a short speech to better introduce themselves to Berkeley High's voting parents. Candidates' statements should be online by tomorrow morning.

Voting: Parents & Guardians can vote either: 1) by ballot at the PTSA meeting on Thursday, September 16th, or 2) by coming to the Berkeley High School front office the next day, Friday, September 17th, to fill out a ballot in person. However, we strongly encourage all parents and guardians to come to Thursday's meeting to hear all the candidates before deciding who to vote for. Voters need not be members of the PTSA, but must have a student currently at BHS.

Please take this opportunity to come meet the candidates and leaders of your school. We hope you will join us for a very informative and exciting evening!

Sincerely,

Natasha Beery & Mark van Krieken
