ADMINISTRATION

*1. Celebrate National Library Week! (April 12th-April 16th) Be sure to come
to our Berkeley High Library this week for a special gift from our beloved
and helpful teacher librarians!

*2. If you missed online scheduling or need to make changes to your course
selections for next year please go to G204 after school this week.  Friday
is the last day to make changes!

*3. Are you an active person who likes to make things happen?  Or do you
want to become more like that?  Then apply for leadership! We need all types
of people -- artists, actors, debaters, writers, hardworkers, creative
thinkers. Applications are available in the leadership office.  Apply
today!!

*4. This Friday, April 16th is the National Day of Silence.  On the Day of
Silence thousands of students at hundreds of schools will participate by
being silent all day in order to protest homophobia, anti-gay harassment,
and discrimination in schools.  Let's all help make Berkeley High a more
accepting open place by stopping the use of homophobic language and phrases
like "that's so gay."

*5. Willard Mathworks tutoring Tuesday, April 20, 27.  

*6. Financial Aid Workshops will be in the College Career at 3:30 pm.,
Tuesdays.

CLUBS

*1. Come join Leadership!  Applications available in D148 for all levels of
interest!  Get involved in your school community and boost your college
applications!  Stop by the leadership office in D148 to pick up an
application.

SENIORS

*1. Seniors!!  Senior Ball tickets are on sale now in the Athletics office,
they are $65 this week and will go up $5 every week until the event.

JUNIORS

*1. BHS Juniors only, take an SAT/ACT practice test at BHS.  $15 pre
registered (cash only).  Please sign up in the College Career Center.

EVENTS/PERFORMANCES

*1. Academy Award-nominated documentary "The Most Dangerous Man In America",
co-directed by BHS  and Willard parent Rick Goldsmith, will be shown on May
6, 2010 at the Elmwood Theater in a special benefit for Willard Middle
School. The film tells the story of Pentagon strategist Daniel Ellsberg's
decision to leak top secret documents about the Vietnam War to the New York
Times in 1971 - a decision that made headlines around the world.  The
program is from 7:15-9:30, and includes a Q&A with Rick Goldsmith and
Patricia Ellsberg, Daniel Ellsberg's wife.  Tickets are $20 in advance (mail
checks by 4/28 to Willard Middle School, attn Kathy Burns, 2425 Stuart
Street, Berkeley 94705, and tickets will be mailed to you) or $25 at the
door.  Don't miss out on this story, which changed the Vietnam War and the
face of 20th Century journalism.

*2. BHS production of THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE this
weekend.
