The Biotech Academy is currently recruiting sophomores for the 2010-2011
school year!

The Biotech Academy takes science out of textbooks and puts it into the
hands of students through labs and on-the-job training. The Academy takes
place during the 11th and 12th grades, providing small class sizes,
tutoring, job skills training like resume writing and workplace etiquette,
and a paid summer internship between the junior and senior year at green,
biotech and healthcare companies in the East Bay.

The Biotech Academy helps students who may not necessarily have perfect
grades learn science with a hands-on approach while building marketable
skills. More than 97% of Academy students enroll in post-secondary
education and many will enter the Biotech Partners community college program
designed to transition students into well-paid careers in biotech. The
Academy has a 100% high school graduation rate over the past 5 years (98%
over 16 years).

Applications are now being accepted for the 2010-2011 school year! Pick up
an application from Ms. Kavaler in G304 or Ms. Hansen in G305. On Wednesday,
February 17th sophomores can fill out their applications during lunch time
in G305, pizza will be provided.

Application due date: Friday February 19, 2010

For the past 17 years the Biotech Academy, in collaboration with local
nonprofit Biotech Partners, has helped hundreds of students at BHS get
