The PSAT test will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m., there will be a warning bell
at 8:20 a.m. Students should be in their seats at that time.
Students will be assigned to a room by grade level and alphabet. Room
assignments will be posted throughout the school on Tuesday and staff will
be on hand to direct students to the appropriate classrooms.
The PSAT is 2 hours and 10 minutes long. There are no breaks and students
cannot bring snacks. (This does not apply to students with extended time).
Students will be released at 11:38.
Students should bring no. 2 pencils and their calculators. These are the
only items they can take out of their backpacks and should be placed on
their desks per teacher instructions. Teachers will instruct students to
put their backpacks under their desks.

Background: PSAT Information
On Wednesday, October 14th, from 8:30-11:38 a.m., Berkeley High will be
administering the PSAT at no charge to all sophomores and to juniors who
registered by last Friday. There are no morning classes for freshman,
juniors who have not registered, and seniors until after lunch. School will
resume with 4th period at 12:24.
There are a limited number of remaining spots for Juniors who have not
registered yet. They can continue to purchase the PSAT for $20 from Bobbye
Reed on Tuesday, October 13. Students can also get on the waiting list on
Wednesday morning on the Community Theatre steps at 7:30 a.m.
The PSAT is an opportunity to practice taking the SAT and get feedback on
areas of strength and areas on which to improve. The score on the PSAT does
not appear on the transcript. The PSAT determines junior membership in the
National Merit Society and enters juniors into numerous scholarship
contests.
