BHS Jazz Alumni Stars!!

Last year's BHS Jazz Combo A performed this past weekend at the Monterey
Jazz Festival after placing first at last April's Monterey Jazz Next
Generation Festival.  They received a standing ovation after a truly
incredible performance.  Congratulations to Chase Jackson (vibes), Nicholas
Murphy (bass), Forrest Mitchell (drums), Elena Pinderhughes (flute), Samora
Pinderhughes (piano) and Michael Stock-Mathews (trumpet) for beautifully
representing BHS, and so clearly demonstrating what a vibrant and
exceptional jazz program we have.

All of the combo members (except Elena) are now college freshmen at various
different schools, and they were thrilled to have the opportunity to play
and perform together again.  Both the musicians and their families are most
grateful to BHS Jazz and its former Director, Charles Hamilton.
