Below is the latest AP/IB test schedule with confirmed venues. Some venues are still pending:

1. Please note, the venues are often different from what I originally thought -- check your slot.

2. Please note, the times listed below are for proctors -- not students. Proctors are asked to come 15 minutes before students. Please check the times carefully -- on many days the times have been changed slightly.

3. Students please don't be late. On Monday, three students were turned away because of late arrival. And, proctors please don't be late -- we are cutting it close. Students do not forget to bring picture IDs.

4. Many people have asked what proctors do. Below the schedule are proctor duties for those who are interested.

5. If you requested parking, I will be contacting you directly. Please contact me if you do not hear from me by Wednesday. Your request could have been misplaced.

6. Note on extended time exams:
Students with extended time start the test in the morning. One of the morning proctors takes them to a different venue. At 11:30 the students are still busy taking the test but the proctor is relieved by the 2nd proctor.

Proctoring tasks:

Proctors arrive 15 minutes before students in the AP exams and 10 minutes before students in the IB exam. Proctors help with check in.

They distribute test booklets and answer sheets, they walk up and down, they pass out pencils, they give out bathroom passes, they collect the answer sheets and test booklets and they legitimatize the exam.

Berkeley High is required to have one proctor for each set of 35 students. Should we be audited during the course of an exam the results could be invalidated should we have an undercount of proctors. BHS offers a huge number of exams. It is one of the reasons Newsweek ranks Berkeley High School in the top 5% of US public high schools. "AP and IB participation are indicators of a school's effort to get students to excel and prepare for college," the magazine writes. But, we cannot offer these exams without your help -- for which we, as a community, are very grateful.
