BAF Athletic Hall of Fame - Saturday, May 2:  For over 25 years BAF has been
raising funds for athletics at Berkeley High School.  In 2007, BAF sponsored
the first annual BHS Athletic Hall of Fame, honoring BHS alumni.  Please
join us for the fun, and it doesn't stop there.

BAF Annual Golf Tournament - Friday, May 1:  BAF's 2nd Annual Golf
Tournament takes place this day, preceding the Hall of Fame ceremonies on
Saturday.  It is fast becoming BAF's most successful fundraising event.
Traditionally, the money collected has been used to pay for uniforms and
equipments for BHS teams.  In 2004, however, the athletic budget was cut,
leaving all freshman teams, some assistant coach stipends and some
transportation without funding.  BAF stepped up and has continued to keep
funding for freshmen sports, stipends and transportation by contributing
$20,000 a year to BHS keeping programs and essentials like transportation in
tact.  The picture is grim as we expect that all of the transportation
budget will be cut for next year, potentially over $80,000.  

Your support is needed now more than ever.  Please consider a donation,
payable to:  Berkeley Athletic Fund, or BAF, and mail it to P.O. Box 11525,
Berkeley, CA  94712.
