[BHS etree] RECOGNITION: BHS Art Students and Teacher Ms. Stahl

The Berkeley School Board presented a certificate of recognition to
Berkeley High Students Sophia Blum and Amanda Swain, first and third
place winners of "An Artistic Discovery," an annual congressional high
school arts competition that recognizes emerging student artists.
Sophia's piece will hang in the U.S. Capitol for one year.  

Berkeley High art teacher Miriam Stahl was also honored by the Board.
In the nine years of the competition, six of Ms. Stahl's students have
won first place, with many others placing second or third.  Miriam was
unable to attend the board meeting because she was at a book signing
in San Francisco for a book featuring 30 of her illustrations.
