Berkeley Daily Planet Every Day & Other News
It has been my habit to stop and pick up a handful of the Berkeley
Daily Planet newspapers every Tuesday and Friday to pass out at the
District Office. This has been a ritual ever since that first edition
when the Planet returned on April 1st, 2003, the 125th anniversary of
the incorporation of the City of Berkeley. The Berkeley Daily Planet
recently announced that they will eliminate the Tuesday edition and
produce one larger paper on Friday. The good news is that they have
been beefing up their web edition of the newspaper, and are now
producing a Berkeley Daily Planet Monday through Friday.

For a good overview of Berkeley in the news, the City of Berkeley's
web site provides a valuable news service called Berkeley News Scan.
This service regularly searches local and national media sources for
news stories related to the City of Berkeley. When you subscribe, you
receive a daily update in your email, which is an easy to follow
Berkeley news.
Those who don't want to subscribe can simply go to the website to see
it every day. This is really handy when families are away over the
breaks, but want to know what's happening.
