Calling all Berkeley youth artists!!! Youth Spirit Artworks, the new 
youth art jobs organization involved in arts furniture painting and 
community arts activities with Berkeley teens, has launched a Design 
Competition toward creation of nine art benches to be painted this 
summer in South Berkeley. The bench designs need to focus on the 
theme of health, with many potential sub-themes such as quitting 
smoking, getting plenty of exercise, eating well, etc. The winner of 
the competition will receive a $100 cash gift. Other prizes are also 
available for winning designs.

All Berkeley teens are eligible. Designs should be drawn on brown 
paper bags in color and will be due June 1, 2008. Completed designs 
can be mailed or dropped off at the Youth Spirit Art Studio, Room 
126, Berkeley Technology Academy, 2701 MLK Jr. Way (at Derby), 
Berkeley, CA  94703.
