STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN

Administration

1. BHS Parents and Students- Bart ticket orders will occur today, 
March 27, at lunchtime and after school until 3:30 pm.  Only in room 
D224.  Ticket price is $16.00 each.  You may purchase as many tickets 
as needed.  Orders are on a CASH only basis.  Tickets will be 
returned to BHS within five or six workdays. Tickets should be 
available after Spring Break.

2. If you left any of your belongings at Junior Prom or at the coat 
check, there will be a lost and found starting Mondays in the 
leadership office.

3. Attention students: DO you have library or textbooks that are 
overdue? Are you sure?  Well, if you are not sure if you have 
returned your books from any prior year, stop by the library or the 
textbook room to check it out.  Seniors- please remember, you will 
not be allowed to attend your prom or receive your final grades if 
you have overdue books.  Please be responsible and check your status 
with Tiffany Williams in the BHS library.

4. Mathworks Coordinator needed.  Excellent references for College, 
provides community service hours and tutoring credits for math.

5. A Tobacco Prevention Interactive Science fair is scheduled all day 
in the library on Wednesday.  Teachers please sign your classes up. 
Call 644-6034 or leave a message in the Tobacco Fair Box on the table 
in the mailroom.  If you already signed up the box was thrown away. 
Please sign up again.


Clubs

*1. Hey Berkeley Jackets!  Have you heard about California's Budget 
cuts?  Do you want to learn more about how the 4.8 billion education 
cut will impact you next year?  Come to the Youth Together meeting 
after school in C224 to learn more and brain storm ways to take 
action.


Sports

1. Cheerleading tryouts begin on Monday, April 14th.  You must have a 
complete athletic packet to tryout, including a recent physical. 
Packets are available in the front or athletic offices.  For more
information stop by the dance room.


Senior / Junior Section

1. Seniors! Want to run for senior Ball Royalty?  Then come apply at 
D148 by March 28th!

2. Juniors: FREE SAT PREP CLASS - you can still join the free SAT 
prep class at Berkeley High.  It's held every Tuesday and Wednesday 
from 3:45-5:45 in H207.  Tuesday focuses on the math portion of the
test and Wednesday focuses on the critical reading section.  No 
sign-up is necessary.


Events/ Performances

1. Wanna come to a house party on campus?  MORP is April 11th from 
7-11 pm in the BHS cafeteria.  There will be a lot of raffle and 
prizes.   Come see how well the Freshman can throw a party.


JOB OPPORTUNITIES

SPRING BREAK JOBS - Sarah's Science is looking for day camp
counselors.  Students must be at least 16 years old, have experience
working with children (babysitting counts), a positive attitude and
enjoy guiding and mentoring children ages 5-12.  Camps are located in
Oakland, Berkeley and Dublin.  Oakland and Dublin: March 24-28;
Berkeley: March 31-April 4, 8:00 am-5:30 pm.  Pay: $8.00/hour.

Summer camp jobs - City of Berkeley, Echo Lake Camp near South Lake
Tahoe is hiring for maintenance and kitchen staff as well as
counselors.   Most staff work 8 hour days.  Counselors work about 8
hours each day through the week and have weekends off.  Shifts vary
depending on department.  For more information, go to

NOTE NEW DEADLINE - Camp Galileo is an art, science and outdoor summer
day camp for kids entering K-5 grade. Volunteer Summer Intern
positions at Camp Galileo are available for high school students in
over 19 communities throughout the Bay Area.  Summer Interns can earn
high school community service credits, gain leadership experience,
make new friends and enjoy an enriching and rewarding summer
experience with children entering K-5th grades. Summer Interns assist
with all aspects of camp-from helping kids with art and science
classes to setting up camp games.~ Students can volunteer for 3-8

June 16 - August 8.
