Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Forum for Families

On Tuesday November 28 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at B-Tech, the Parent Outreach
Office is coordinating a forum to discuss how schools can be more
welcoming to all families, and particularly Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and
Transgender (LGBT) families. The purpose of the forum is to initiate the
building blocks for a support network among LGBT families in our
community, and to discuss how to make schools safer and more inclusive,
how to work with the parent community and how to incorporate these issues
into overall anti-bullying work. The forum is a follow up initiative of a
group of administrators that recently attended a conference on supporting
LGBT families in elementary schools. The Parent Outreach Office was asked
to help coordinate it.
