DEVELOPMENT GROUP ANNOUNCEMENT

The Board of the Berkeley High Development Group held its last
monthly meeting of the school year, Monday, June 5, to consider
requests for funds.  Awards made at this meeting included funding of
these proposals:

Berkeley High School Art Gallery, a  grant to help establish a new
Berkeley High school Art Gallery in the C building as a showcase for
student art and a laboratory for students to learn skills in gallery
curatorship.

Miriam Stahl for Visual Arts and AHA, for a project to improve access
to the arts and support AP studio arts for students from low-income
backgrounds.  It will include an after school open studio once a
week.

Jessica Seaton and Carol Lashof on behalf of the PTSA for The
Homework Site, A new homework website that will provide a useful
connection between teacher, student and parent.

Jessica Seaton on behalf of the PTSA to reinstate and publish the BHS
parent guidebook, the "Red and Gold Parent Handbook."

The Berkeley High School Development Group is an independent,
non-profit, IRS recognized 501 (c)(3) corporation.  The Development
Group raises funds to help make Berkeley High the best it can be. It
provides grants to programs and projects that need funding and also
holds restricted funds for departments and programs throughout the
school.

We encourage Berkeley High teachers and community members to apply
