Administration
1. All Juniors who will be taking Senior AP Literature and Compostion
next
year need to pick up the summer reading assignment in C219 this week.
There will be a quiz on the summer reading the first week of the new
school
year.

Clubs
1. Got Something interesting to say? The award-winning Berkeley High
Jacket is looking for columnists for the 2006-2007 school year. Any and
all interested students should pick up an application in H102 or send an
email to <news at jacket.org>.
2. Calling all actors: If you want to go to the world’s largest theatre
festival in Edinburgh, Scotland with the BHS Drama Club please see Mr.
Winer
immediately for an application. Final cast will be chosen by June 16th.
Sports
1. Congratulations to Jonathan Jardim who was selected as a Boys
Lacrosse
All -American.
2. Two Berkeley High School Crew team boats qualified for the US Rowing
National Youth Championships which ended June 11th. Berkeley High is
the
only public high school from the Bay Area to have qualified and won.
3. Attention all Berkeley High athletes: Pick up athletic packets for
the
06-07 athletic seasons either in the Athletic Office or the
Administration
Office. Between now and the end of June is an ideal time to line up a
free physical at the BHS Health Center. After July 1, they may or may
not
be able to accommodate you. Get your athletic packet taken completed
this
summer and you’ll be ready to participate in all sports for next year.
4. Fall sport tryouts (Boys and Girls Cross-country, Girls Volleyball,
Girls Tennis, Girls golf, Boys and Girls Waterpolo, and Football) begin
before the start of the school year! The official start date for
Football
is Monday, August 14. All other sports start on Monday, August 21. You
may miss out on your opportunity to go out for a fall sport if you are
not
prepared for tryouts or if you do not communicate with the coach. Pick
up
a Fall sport information sheet and a academic packet from the athletics
office or the administrative office.
Senior / Junior Section
1. Mandatory Graduation rehearsal:
Thursday, June 15th at 1:00 pm in the Community Theater.
Friday, June 16th at 9:30 am at the Greek Theater. All seniors must at
attend both rehearsals.
2. JOSTENS representatives will be at the graduation rehearsal on
Thursday
at 2:00 pm. Make sure you pick up your items if you haven’t already
done
so.
3. If you are planning to attend a four-year college and have not turned
in a *Transcript Request Form* to Ms. Mellion in D173, you must do so
now!
All colleges require that you send them a final transcript to complete
the
admissions process.
4. Seniors: Looking for a full time job? Veriflo is hiring production
workers in manufacturing operations in Pt. Richmond. No experience
necessary. Starting salary is $10.18 peer hour plus union. Email

5. Juniors: The UC pamphlet * Introducing the University* has arrived.
Pick yours up in the College Center to get information on each UC
campus,
including admissions, majors, financial aid and important contact
information.
