CALIFORNIA ANNOUNCER HONORED

The National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers
(NASPAA), the professional association for sports public address
announcers, has selected Marco Alfandary, The Voice of the Berkeley
High Yellow Jackets, as the 2005-2006 NASPAA California State High
School Rookie Announcer of the Year.

Selections were based on a variety of criteria including years of
experience, number of sports being announced, competency and
professionalism.  Marco Alfandary has been announcing for two years. 
He was nominated by Kristin Glenchur, Athletic Director of Berkeley
High School.

"The NASPAA is delighted to have the opportunity to pay tribute to
the individuals who have distinguished themselves among their peers,
like Marco Alfandary," commented Brad Rumble, NASPAA Executive
Director.  "Marco truly represents the best of the best."
