[BHS etree] CLUBS: Berkeley High School Chess Teams finds success at Nationals

Six students from Berkeley High traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin at
the end of April to compete in the K-12 Scholastic Chess Nationals.
They placed 28th out of close to 400 teams overall, playing in the
top division (around 54 teams).  Their ranking in that section was
around 42nd, so they scored much better than predicted!   

Thank you to all the individuals, parents and community members, and
the BHS Development Group who helped to sponsor the trip for these
students.  A very special thanks goes out to Spanish teacher Charles
Wolff who coached the kids so well all year long and accompanied them
to Milwaukee.   Twelve players are now preparing to go to the State
Championships in San Jose in 2 weeks.  Go Berkeley High!
