Congratulations to the Crew teams who participated in a 5 team league 
race this weekend against Saint Ignatius High School, Pacific Rowing 
Club, River City Rowing Club and the Delta Blades Rowing Club.

Many of the Berkeley High boats were greatly improved in their 
performances against these teams both from earlier races this season 
and from last years results. The women came home with wins for the 
Varsity 4 and the Lightweight 4 as well as seconds in the Varsity 8, 3V 
8, Freshman 8, Novice 8, and JV 4.  The men, racing against last year's 
national champions, came in with respectable second places in the 
Varsity 4, Freshman 8, Lightweight 8, JV 4 and Lightweight 4.

The crew teams are having an excellent 2006 season with many first and 
second places in their league races. The Berkeley Crew Teams next race 
against Norcal Rowing Club, Humboldt Rowing Club, and Palo Alto Rowing 
Club on May 7 at Norcal. This will be the final league race of the year 
before all the crew teams head to the regional championships outside 
Sacramento on May 20-21.
