STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN

Administration
1.               Greetings BHS staff:  Coordinated School Health 
Council meets Wednesday March 22 at
3:30 PM, in Conference Room B.  We invite you to be part of an 
innovative collaborative effort.  All are welcome. Food and Beverages 
served.  For more information, contact Shannon Banks in G202B.

2.	If you received a letter in the mail saying that you need to 
take one or both parts of the California State Exit Exam, you must 
report to the Jacket Gym at 7:30 AM Wednesday, March 22, for the Math 
Exam.  Please make sure to bring a book in case you finish early.  If 
you are not certain whether you need to take one or both parts of the 
exam, please talk to Rory Bled, Vice Principal.

3.	The dates for the Honors Algebra 2 and Honors Math Analysis 
tests are April 3rd and April 5th from 3:30 - 4:15PMin H306.  Please 
contact Mr. Weitz via email at <mweitz at berkeley.k12.ca.us> to sign up 
for the test.  Ask your current math teacher for more information.

4.	Do you like Science?  Do you want a paid summer internship at 
a biotech company like Bayer and Chiron?  Do you like working with 
hi-tech equipment?  If you're a sophomore, apply for the Biotech 
Academy.  Pick up an application from Mr. Fong in G305 or Dr. Stone 
in G304.  Applications
are still available and due back early next week.

5.	Student Government applications are now available in Ms. 
McKnight-Johnson's office D148 in the main office, and in the SLC. 
Pick up one today!

6.	Alright! Alright! The MORP Dance is on its way!  March 31st 
is the end of the marking period and what better way to celebrate 
your grades then by coming to the MORP and getting your party on. 
Tickets are only $5 and are on sale Wednesday and Friday at lunch in 
the community theater box office.

7.	JOBS: Recreation Activity Leader- Call the City of Berkeley 
Parks and Recreation at 981-5150.  $13.76 per hour to start. 
Deadline to apply: April 21st.  Other aquatic positions are available 
as well.

8.	Berkeley Public Library's Teen Services invite teen readers 
to come out and discuss the "Coldest Winter Ever" by Sister Souljah, 
at the SOUTH BRANCH LIBRARY, 1901 Russell St.  For information call 
981-6106. Thursday, March 23rd  4:00 PM.

9.	VOLUNTEER- Camp Galileo has opportunities for counselors in 
training and summer interns at a camp for elementary school age 
students.  You can help campers with art, science and outdoor 
activities or develop kids enjoyment of science and engineering.  For

1.	Wanna be safe?  Come to G103 at lunch today to join condom club.

2.	Earphone English is in C116 at lunch today.  Come meet 
Antonio Lopeznow working with Francisca and our club.

Sports

Senior / Junior Section

1.	College Visits:

2.	For seniors- Claude Clark Memorial scholarship Fund- This 
scholarship is for African and African American seniors graduating 
from Bay Area High Schools.  Three $3,000 scholarships will be 
awarded. Deadline: April 15.


Events/ Performance
1.	Attention Juniors!  Junior Prom ticket sales at lunch in the 
Allston Way Box office.  Ticket sales are Tuesday, Wednesday, and 
Thursday of every week at lunch.  Tickets will start at $60.00 each 
and will go up $5 each week with a maximum ticket price of $75.00 per 
ticket.  Remember! Prom is April 29th.  CASH ONLY!!!   NO Checks will 
be accepted.

2.	Are you ready for prom Juniors and Seniors?  If not, please 
make sure you come out to the 3rd Annual Prom fair this Friday in the 
Community Theater and the courtyard.  Check out the latest tuxedos, 
hairstyles, prom dresses, and sign up to run for Prom King and Queen. 
Friday, March 24th
from 3:15-4:30 pm.


SALES
1.	BART tickets for March are here.  Please pick up your tickets 
in room D224 at lunchtime only.

2.	BART ticket orders will be taken March 30, and 31st at 
lunchtime in room D224.  Price per ticket is $16.00

3.	Yearbooks are on sale in H102 everyday at lunch and after 
school.  They are $70 dollars.  Make checks payable to BHS yearbooks.
