This spring Berkeley Community Media will offer another Youth TV
Camp. In this week-long session, participants will learn how to
write, shoot, direct, and edit their own television shows that will
be aired on cable TV. Using state-of-the-art facilities and guided
by BCM's knowledgeable video trainers, each student will get a chance
to explore the different roles in television production from Audio
Technician and Graphic Designer to Camera Operator and Director, all
while creating their own TV show. At the completion of the session,
each student will be certified in studio production and can continue
to create their own shows for free. They will also receive a free
membership allowing them to take more BCM workshops throughout the
year.

The camp runs from April 10-14, Monday-Friday from 1:00-5:00 pm.

BCM accepts applicants ages 13-20 years old. The cost is $200,
payable by check or credit card (Visa or MasterCard) and includes a
free year-long membership to Berkeley Community Media. Applicants
must pay the full amount in person at BCM to reserve a space in the
camp. Reservations will be taken on a first-come first-serve basis.

Financial aid is available for those who need assistance. Please
contact Crescent to apply.

Berkeley Community Media is a non-profit community organization that
promotes free-speech television in Berkeley. Broadcasting on cable
TV on B-TV Channels 28 and 33, BCM has been a cornerstone for public
access television in the Bay Area for over a decade and, being
located at Berkeley High School, has been a pioneer in youth arts
programming as well. This long-standing tradition of free speech and
equal opportunity has been and continues to be a hallmark of Berkeley
activism.
