Last week Berkeley High began sending out email notifications of
unexcused absences. These emails, which include an attachment, do
not come directly from Berkeley High but via email at notification.com
<mailto:email at notification.com>.
The Attendance office will continue to make automatic telephone
calls, as well, to alert parents/guardians of unexcused absences.
The email addresses were obtained from the Emergency Cards which
students turned in at the beginning of the year. If your email
address has changed or was not included on the card, you may notify
Janet Huseby at jhuseby at pacbell.net <mailto:jhuseby at pacbell.net> and
she will make the necessary changes.
The new system does not yet send out Tardy notifications, though the
school is working on that. As a reminder, three tardies equal one
unexcused absence and five unexcused absences in a quarter will
result in a lowered grade.
If your child is absent, please call 644-6209 to excuse the absence.
The call will generate a clearance slip which your child should pick
up from the Attendance Office and have signed by their teachers.
