Administration
1.	BSEP Meeting will take place on Thursday, December 1st 
4:30-6:00p.m. in conference room B.  All members please be in 
attendance and on time.  The agenda items are as follows: 
Introductions, Establish a quorum, Approval of Agenda-Additions/ 
Changes, Review and approval of the minutes
from last two meetings, nominations for Chair of 05-06 BHS BSEP 
Committee, Election of Chair of 05-06 BHS BSEP Committee, Nominations 
for 4 representatives to the BSEP Planning and Oversight Committee, 
elect representatives, nominations for 2 representatives to Shared 
Governance, elect representatives to Shared Governance, Orientation 
with Mary Hurlbert of BSEP Office, Report from Shared Governance 
Reps, Report from Site/BSEP Training, assign site visits of programs 
that we funded last year, set meeting dates, adjournment.

2.	BTSA Meeting on Thursday, December 1st.  3:30-5:45 PM in G210.

3.	Attention all staff:  Xerox Photocopier Training the first 20 
minutes of each period (1-7).

4.	The monthly Student Council Rep Meeting will be held Thursday 
at lunch in the Community Theater.  All 2nd period reps should attend.

5.	Today is Teens Kick Ash Day!  Smokers: if you are interested 
in quitting, stop by the booth in the park today during lunch to get 
hypnotized and/ or pick up a quit kit.  Hypnosis can help break the 
addiction of smoking!  Bring your signed permission slip.  Friends of 
smokers; adopt your smoking friend and help them stay smoke-free for 
the day.  Prizes for all participants!  Contact Tricia Brazil @

Clubs
1.	Don't forget to join us on WORLD AIDS DAY at the Community 
Theater on December 1st.  Come part in the world wide HIV awareness 
and tour the AIDS memorial quilt and the BHS student quilt, 
participate in all the interactive and hands on activities.  But most 
importantly come learn and understand this epidemic.  STOP AIDS. Keep 
the promise.

2.	The Black Student Union is holding an important meeting today 
at lunch in H214.  Agenda: Richard Navies week and Pre-Kwanzaa 
celebration planning.  Be there or be square.

3.	Achtung! Achtung!  Come to the German Film Club to watch 
"Goodbye, Lenin."  The film will be in German with English Subtitles, 
everybody's welcome, and bring your lunch to C115 from
11:30 -12:15.

4.	Study finds Pittsburgh unprepared for Full Scale zombie 
attack!!  This and other fake news from "The Onion" were turned into 
short comedies by Advanced Theatre Projects and show this week, Wed- 
Friday.  2 different but free shows each day.

5.	All clubs interested in participating on Club Day should sign 
up in room D148.  Club Day will be on Friday, December 2nd on the 
campus green tables will be provided.

6.	Earphone English- come to C116 at lunch on Wednesday to be 
sure you can come to the movie and pizza gathering next week.

7.	Everyone going on the December 3rd snowboarding trip to North 
Star needs to come to a mandatory informational meeting in C213 at 
lunch.

8.	Close-Up: Our regular weekly meeting for discussions will be 
today, lunchtime in G201.  Interested persons it is not too late to 
sign up for the week long Study of Government trip to
Washington DC.

9.	Quiz bowl meets this Friday in C315. Come and enjoy!  Use 
your trivia and academic challenge.


Sports
1.	The Berkeley Rhino Rugby Club is seeking new High School age 
players for the Winter 2005/Spring 2006 Season.  Practices are 5:30 
on Tuesdays and Thursdays at San Pablo Park, Berkeley starting 
November 29.  No experience required.  All sizes welcome.  Boys ages 
14-18.  Call the
Hotline for more info at 510-466-5113.

2.	All interested BHS students in open gym volleyball are 
welcome to come Tuesdays from 4:00- 6:00 PM in Old Gym.

3.	All football players must turn in uniforms and equipment to 
David White from 4-5 on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.  Fall 
athletes must turn in uniforms and equipment to the athletic office 
at lunch or after school any time this week.


Senior / Junior Section
1.	Visits:  Thursday, December 1st    -   US AIR FORCE ROTC  at  8:30 AM

2.	Seniors : Your order days are as follows for Jostens: 
Tuesday, November 29th (N-S)       Wednesday, November 30th (T-Z) 
Lunchtime:  ONLY. You can pick up package information in the Admin 
office, counseling office, or in D148.

3.	Seniors, it's blood drive time.  Come to D148 to sign up to 
donate blood at this year's Red Cross blood drive in the jacket gym. 
All donors must be at least 17 years old.  Blood drive will be held 
on Monday, December 5th.


Events/ Performance
1.	Come check out our award winning Berkeley High School Jazz 
Ensemble, Friday, December 2 at 7:30 PM, at the Florence Schwimley 
Little Theater, 1929 Allston Way.  Both small combos will also 
perform sets.  Tickets, available only at the door, $10 general 
admission and are FREE for Berkeley High School students, faculty and 
staff.  The box office opens at 7:00 PM.  This concert will be a 
benefit for Hurricane Katrina music fund.  Various snacks and foods 
will be available before the concert and at
intermission.

2.	Wanna volunteer for the Holiday Meal?  Come to an informal 
meeting to sign up and get information.  The meeting will take place 
this Wednesday at lunch in G210.  The Holiday Meal welcomes all 
volunteers. Also, a reminder, the canned food drive ends this Friday, 
December 2nd.  Don't forget to donate cans.

3.	Come see the orchestra and band on their annual winter 
concert Thursday, December 8th at 7:30 PM in the Community Theater. 
Hear pieces by Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.  Be there!!!

4.	Young people, ages 15-24 make up half of all new HIV 
infections worldwide.  More than 6000 become infected everyday. The 
HIV Prevention Program will be sponsoring a school-wide event on 
Thursday, December 1st for World AIDS Day.  Stop by the Community 
Theater 8:30 AM to 4 PM.  There will be displays, hands-on learning 
activities, a tour of AIDS memorial quilt panels, as well as panels 
made to BHS students.  Come by, STOP AIDS, and keep the promise.


SALES
1.	BART Tickets orders will be taken on Tuesday, 11/29 and 
Wednesday, 11/30.  Ticket prices are $16.00 each.  Orders will be at 
lunchtime only at the box office ticket window.

2.	BHS Wearable will be sold Fridays from 3:15-3:45 PM at the 
Athletic Directors office, by Donahue Gym.  PJ bottoms, hoodie 
sweatshirts, t-shirts and sweats.  Contact Mary Kay
