Laureate Al Young, which will take place at 12:10 in the Morrison
Room as part of the University's famed Lunch Poems series.

The class will leave at 10:45 with lunch in hand, eat on campus,
listen to the reading, and then return in time for Period 5 at 1:19
p.m. If you can come on this literary adventure, please report to
Mr. Miller s classroom C 311 at 10:30. He would appreciate it if you

Under the direction of Professor Robert Hass, UC Berkeley's public
lunchtime poetry reading series has been a popular event on the
campus for years, welcoming both established and emerging poets. In
addition to being the poet laureate from 1995 to 1997 Bob Hass was a
Berkeley public school parent with three children graduating from
Berkeley High.

California Poet Laureate Al Young, who will be reading on Thursday,
has created a profound and enduring body of work (poetry, fiction,
nonfiction, stage and screen) that explores the American, human
condition through the lens of the individual voice. Originally born
in Mississippi, Young resides in Berkeley.
