The No Child Left Behind act calls on school districts to provide the
military with the names and addresses of high school students for
recruiting purposes. Last year our district decided students and
parents would have to "OPT IN" should they be interested in receiving
military information.

Our district does NOT provide the military with information without
parental or student permission. If you do not want your child to
receive information from the military you do not have to "Opt Out."

However, parents should be aware that the military has avenues other
than the school district from which they may obtain personal
information, such as the SAT (there is a box to check if students
wish to receive information from colleges and the military) and
Federal Financial Aid applications.
