[BHS etree] ADMIN: Summer reading for AP English Classes

There are two Advanced Placement English courses being offered next year at
Berkeley High: AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and
Composition.  (The fine difference is Language or Literature).  Below
information on the summer reading lists for the two courses:

1. Attention all Sophomores and Juniors who enrolled in AP Language and
Composition for the Fall 05. Please visit Mr. Miller C217, Mr. Carton C213,
or Mrs.. Z C220 and pick up your copy of the summer assignment.

2. The AP Literature and Composition summer reading list is:
Blindness by Jose Saramago  (A Harvest Book, Hartcourt, Inc.)
The Sound and the Fury  by William Faulkner (Norton Critical Edition, 2nd
Edition)
Victory by Joseph Conrad (Penguin Classics)

Students should take careful notes on the theme, characters, and style of
each novel.  There will be a multiple-choice examination the first Friday in
September.
