1. The BUSD is seeking applicants for a number of Board Committies:  Surplus
Facilities (possibly, for instance, Hillside School), District Maintenance,
and the Facilities Construction Committee. Learn more about the specific
committees on the website: www.berkeley.k12.ca.us, under School Board, then
Advisory Committees, or feel free to call or email me (Mark Coplan)to talk
about the various opportunities at 644-6320 or
publicinfo at berkeley.k12.ca.us. Deadline for applications has been extended
to May 17, 2005.

2. The District Music Advisory Committee is also looking for interested new
