[BHS etree] PTSA: Meeting Thursday, April 14--The Commercialization of Childhood

Come hear Allen D. Kanner, PhD speak on the Commercialization of Childhood,
Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in the BHS Library.

Dr. Kanner, a graduate of UC Berkeley and the Harvard School of Medicine, is
a current staff psychologist at Stanford and an expert on the effects of
commercialization on children. In 2000, he co-founded the national advocacy
group, Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood.   Dr. Kanner plans to
discuss ways parents can protect their children from the advertising
onslaught and to bring parents up to date on recent developments in
marketing to children, which are now a threat to the physical and emotional
well-being of our children.
