Administration

1.	REMINDER- NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST IN OBSERVANCE OF 
PRESIDENTS' HOLIDAY.

2.	Are you interested in reading the bulletin?  If so, we’re holding 
auditions next Wednesday, February 23rd after school in C400.  See ya 
there!

3.	Bart Tickets are here please pick up tickets in room D148 at 
lunchtime.

4.	Next Bart ticket orders will be on February 24, 25 and 28th at 
lunchtime in room D148.  No orders will be taken after February 28th.

5.	Career Awareness Day- Come learn about jobs available in the union 
electrical construction industry such as journeyman electricians, sound
and communications  technicians, project managers, safety directors, 
office managers, warehouse person, and general managers.  Event takes
place on Wednesday, March 2nd from 11:30 to 1:00 pm in San Leandro.  
See Michelle Smith in the College/ Career Center.

6.	Great opportunity! Proctors needed second semester, periods 4 and 5 
to accompany a student to the YMCA.  Please contact Tamar Chaet in room 
H106. (ASAP).

7.	Mr. Willson would like several Math TA’s (teaching assistants) 
periods 1, 3, 4.  To apply please bring your proctor sign up form from 
the counseling department to G201.

8.	Job opening – Student needed to do light clerical work.  Contact 
Debbie Taylor at <Debbie at greatparents.net>;  $8 per hour.

Clubs
1.	The Berkeley High Snowboard Club is planning a trip to Sugar Bowl 
for March 12th.  No experience is necessary!  Just come and have fun.  
Come to
room C2333 anytime to pick up trip forms and info.  Official club 
meetings are every Wednesday at lunch in room C233.

2.	Feeling down lately?  Learn how to beat the blues!  Come learn more 
about depression and ways to be happier and less stressed!  First 
meeting
starts Friday, February 25th at lunchtime in room C213.  Lunch will be 
provided.

3.	Earphone English meeting Friday at lunch in C116.  Francisca will be 
there this time with many new books.

4.	For those who signed up for the Costa Rican field trip --and for 
those who are interested-- there will be a lunch time meeting this 
Thursday in  G307.

Sports
1.	Tonight  Boys Basketball  travels to DeAnza:  5:30 JV/ 7:00 Varsity 
games.  The Girls Basketball team play DeAnza at home versus:  4:00 JV/ 
5:30 Varsity.

2.      Girls Soccer  beat California High last night in the final 
second of the NCS game at Berkeley.  They will play Foothill on 
Saturday,
February 19th at 7:00 pm at home.  Student tickets are $5 with ID and 
adult tickets are $8.00.  Go Berkeley!

3.	Following the Girls' Basketball game, at 7:00 p.m.,  the Berkeley 
Police Department will play the Berkeley Fire Department in the 2nd 
Annual Police
vs. Fire Charity game.  Ticket prices are $3 student and $5 adult. 
Proceeds will go toward PAL and Scholarships for those interested in a 
career in the Fire/EMS service.

Senior / Junior Section
1.	College visits:
  March 1, 2005 10:35 am              Academy of Art University
(The representative will speak about undergraduate programs as well as 
summer programs for high school students)


2.	College Admissions 101- free workshop on the college admissions 
process and SAT preparation, Saturday, February 26, 9:00 am to noon at 
Classroom Matters, 2607 7th Street Suite E, Berkeley.  Space Limited.

3.	Attention students:  A new section is established in the College 
Career Center.  This section is devoted to Historically Black Colleges 
and
Universities.  It has all the applications, brochures, and information 
you will need to be on your way to higher education at an HBCU!!  Come 
check it out!

Events/ Performance
1.	Come see the Vagina Monologues at BHS!  This Saturday, February 19th 
in the Little Theater.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m.  
It
will sell out, so come early!  Proceeds will be going to organizations 
helping to stop violence against women.

2.	I.T.P.S. – Independent Theater Projects in its 10th year of 
production: 3-One Acts Independently Produced by BHS students February 
11, 12, 18, and
19th at 8:00 pm at the Hillside Club.  2286 Cedar St. (between Oxford 
and Euclid) in Berkeley.  Students $5, Adults $10.

Sales

1.	Yearbooks are on sale for $65.00 in H102.  Every Tuesdays and 
Thursdays during lunch or zero period you can purchase your book.
