Administration
1. REMINDER: NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH — LINCOLN’S BIRTHDAY
HOLIDAY.
2. The "Student ID" camera has been repaired and we will be taking IDs
in the Counseling Department at lunch time. The fee for a replacement
ID is $5.00. Please pay Bobbye Reed in the Registrar’s Office (D173)
before coming to the Counseling Department.
3. Wanted: Quitters! If you want to quit smoking before it becomes a
life-long addiction leading to disease and premature death then join
the KICK-IT class. The class starts Tuesday, February 15th during 1st
period in the Admin office, Conference Room B. 6 weeks/6 sessions with
rotating class periods. Get a pass from class and just show up.
Snacks provided. Questions? Call Tricia @ 644-8987.
4. Attention Seniors and Juniors: Sign up for work experience in C317
at lunch.
5. The award-winning Jazz Ensemble, ranked #1 at this years Redwood
Empire Jazz Festival, and the Lab Band perform together at the Freight
and Salvage Coffee House on Thursday, February 10th at 8:00 pm.
Tickets are $16.50 in advance, ($17.50 at the door), half price for 12
and under, and $1 off for students and seniors. Tickets can be
purchased at the club, 1111 Addison St. Call Lori at 527-8245 for more
information.
6. Great opportunity: Proctors needed second semester during periods 4
and 5 to accompany a student to the YMCA. Please contact Tamar Chaet
in room H106. (ASAP).
7. Mr. Willson would like several Math TA’s (Teaching Assistants)
during periods 1, 3, 4. To apply please bring your proctor sign up
form from the Counseling Department to G201.
8. Job opening: Student needed to do light clerical work. Contact

1. Attention CLIMBERS! If you have a membership to Berkeley Iron Works
or have been thinking about joining and want more people to climb with,
come to C213 on Thursday, February 10th at lunch to meet with fellow
climbers and discuss creating a club.
2. Black Student Union will meet on Thursday, February 17th atlunch in
H214.
3. Ladies of BHS: “Speak on It” meets every Thursday at lunch in
Conference Room B. Come join us as we talk about issues for young
ladies, and about young ladies. Light lunch served. See you there!
4. Culture and Exchange Club Members: Come to the first exchange of the
spring semester. Get a permission slip from Mr. Berkman in C107 or
C134. Meeting is Thursday period 1 in C134.

2. Seniors: The representative from SF State will be in D221 on
Wednesday, February 16 at lunchtime. Please stop by see her if you
have questions. If you still need to turn in your official transcript,
you can give it to her at that time.
3. Juniors: Saturday, February 19, 8:30 am-3:30 pm: University of San
Francisco Multicultural Junior Preview Day for African American, Latino
and Native American high school juniors. You must have a minimum GPA
of 2.75 to participate. Presentations on academics, majors, and
eligibility requirements, campus tour, meetings with admissions
counselors, etc. Space is limited to 50 students. Applications
available in the College Center. Free. Application deadline: February
9.
Events/ Performance
1. Come join the Modern Renaissance! Enrollment is open for
California Quintessential Knighthood Training programs. Learn the
combat skills and creative arts of the modern knighthood. Appropriate
for the adventurous 15-21 year olds. Come check us out at
<www.AttaardDaysKnight.com> or <www.nextquest.com>. It takes place
this summer in Mendocino County.
Sales
1. Yearbooks are on sale for $65.00 in H102 every Tuesday and Thursday
during lunch or zero period.
