[BHS etree] ADMIN/ETREE: School Notes

1. As of Tuesday, Feb. 1, 3,038 students were enrolled at Berkeley High.
Normally the number of students drops second semester.  This year, there has
been a slight increase, both as a result of incoming new students and a
higher retention rate.

2. There are 1,948 subscribers to the etree.  If you have friends who are
not aware of the etree, please pass the word. Directions to subscribe are at
the bottom.  For those without Internet connection, there is also a "hard
copy" version of the etree which is available in the Parent Resource Center,
updated daily.

3. Next week, BHS will begin a series of 10 a.m. tours of the Berkeley High
buildings and grounds for prospective ninth families.   Each tour will be
limited to six persons and will include buildings but not classrooms.  To
sign up, please contact Janet Huseby at jhuseby at pacbell.net. Please indicate
which date and the number of persons in the party.

4. Two important date changes.  The School Choice meeting originally
scheduled for Feb. 17 has been moved to March 3.  All families of current
8-10th graders are invited to attend the meeting in the Community Theater at
7 p.m. The PTSA meeting scheduled for Feb. 10 on school safety has been
cancelled.  The PTSA hopes to reschedule on March 10.  Look for an
announcement.
