BUSD BOARD UPDATES of interest to Berkeley High School from the board
meeting of December 8.

1. Approval of Site Plan for Berkeley High School

The Board approved the 2004-05 Revised Single

and the Board tabled approving any of the site plans, encouraging the

The Single Site Plans for Willard and Berkeley Alternative High School
will come before the Board on December 15, 2004, and the elementary
plans have been completed and approved.

2. Presentation: Student Performance on SAT, AP and CAHSEE Tests

The Board received a presentation on Student
Performance on SAT, AP, and CAHSEE Tests. The
Average BUSD verbal scores on the SAT Verbal and
Math tests were 18 points higher in 2003-04 than
1999-01, and the math scores were 23 points higher.
In the Advanced Placement tests, BUSD had a 35%
increase in the number of students with one or more
