In order to qualify for honors in the Freshman Seminar, 9th grade students
are required to engage in 25 hours of community service. Potentially
hundreds of students will opt for the honors strand and these hundreds will
be looking for a way to contribute to the community. To help place the
students in appropriate situations, Berkeley High will be hosting a
community Service Fair on February 9. It should be an exciting, precedent
setting event!
Vice Principal Matt Huxley is looking for parents who can help in this
endeavor by
1. Contacting potential community service organizations,
2. Helping set up and run the actual fair,
3. Serving as liaisons between the students and the agencies.
A planning meeting will be held in the conference room in the new Admin
building on January 5, at 9 a.m.
If you can help, (even if you can not attend the meeting) please let Janet
Huseby know at jhuseby at pacbell.net
Thank you!
