The following items of interest to Berkeley High school were discussed at
the Novemer 17 Board meeting:

1. BUSD Food Policy
The Board accepted for final reading and approved
the Berkeley Unified School District’s Food Policy
after recommendations from the Berkeley PTA
Council were incorporated into the plan.The
policy is on page 75 of the board packet and is
available on the website:
www.berkeley.k12.ca.us

2.  Presentation: Strategic Class Size
The Board received a presentation on current class
sizes throughout the District. The report is on page
83 of the board packet and is available on the BUSD
website: www.berkeley.k12.ca.us

3. Presentation of Monthly School Enrollment Report
The Board received the monthly enrollment report
and average daily attendance summaries from
September 27th, to October 22nd, 2004.  Student
enrollment totaled 8,976, with 5.44% of monthly
absences, costing the District $245,344 in
projected ADA. Each student absence results in
$28.37 per day in unearned revenue for the District.

This board meeting will be re-broadcast on Berkeley
Cable Channel 33 on Saturday, November 20th at
5:00 PM, and on Sunday, November 21st at 7:00 PM.
